Karlijn Dapperen

hi there! My name is Karlijn Dapperen. I live and work in Thornbury, Ontario, Canada, but I'm originally from the Netherlands. Together with my husband and son, I moved to Canada in 2017. In 2020 our daughter was born here. We love it here so much, but we're drawn to Europe too. So it's hard to stay where we eventually will end up. But for now we're happy here.

I've always been creative. From crafting my own shoes with duct tape when I was a little girl to illustrating birth announcement cards for all my friends. 

I love creating whimsical art with a bit of humor. Like a bee who's allergic to a beautiful bouquet of flowers or a little girl with huge, neon, reflective sunglasses. I love to play with funny details and create something that makes me smile. I hope it does the same for you. Have fun exploring my art.
